Surfline's wrap up on the Outer Banks Pro 2012

The annual Hurley-WRV Outer Banks Pro went down this past weekend at Jennette's Pier in Nags Head, NC, and our boys Jeffrey Myers and Seth 'Wally' Barrick were there to represent.  Unfortunately the waves were meager, which left the boys hanging after the first couple rounds.  Big congrats to the 2012 Outer Banks Pro champ Aaron 'Gorkin' Cormican!  For the full photo feature and editorial piece on the contest(written by Matt Pruett), click here!

A fun, little, July south swell graced the Outer Banks last week!  Managed to capture a few clips and put together a webisode for this month!  Antwoine drove up from SC and surfed with the rest of the fam-  Seth 'Wally' Barrick, Cody Craig, Christian Kane, Patagonia's Kim Diggs, and Analog's Mark Dawson.  Enjoy!

Ability trunks review | Summer 2011

Before opening our board short sales to retail shops, Ability wanted to test the quality, durability, and comfort of our first series of baggies. Test pilots Jeffrey Myers, Dallas Tolson, Antwoine Langley, and Seth Barrick have been putting them to the test with successful results! The trunks are BUTTER. The 'Blue Diamonds' have inner, diamond-tech fabric, and the black 'Operative' trunks are 4-way stretch, super, light weight polyester. Spring swell | April 17th | Featureless Perfection

The online surf world made sure to cover this past weekend's, spring, east coast, swell in features ranging from ESPN.com, to surfline.com, to easternsurf.com, along with many more. The Outer Banks was firing, Maryland was pumping, New Jersey was heaving epic barrels, and the Northeast was flawless. As we sat in front of our computer screens and clicked through those images that encompass the perfect combination of lighting, split second timing, uncanny athleticism, and the sheer talent that spawns photographic art, we sometimes forget about those photos that may not have grabbed that perfect ray of light during that critical, magic, split second, or the photos that may have been cursed by the auto focus of a camera, not to mention those pics that just didn't quite make the cut... Beneath the surface of all the online features and the 'perfect' photos, the boys definitely got perfection. It was just a different kind. All photos by Mickey '2M' McCarthy

"Same Old (Dominion) Story" // easternsurf.com feature

Ability family Dallas Tolson and Seth Barrick both got photos in easternsurf.com's, 'Fight Club' feature, "Same Old (Dominion) Story", which covered the 2010 Battle of the Banks contest. Big Congratulations go out to the Virginia Beach team as they have taken the 3rd over all win once again. Although the Outer Banks team came up short on victory again, Ability team rider Seth Barrick(of the Outer Banks team) won "best barrel" of the contest and Fuel TV's, Matt Beacham(of the Outer Banks team) won best over all competitor of the contest. Seth Barrick makes finals in the VQS-Kill Devil Hills

Team rider Seth Barrick made the finals in the Volcom Qualifying Series in Kill Devil Hills, NC this past weekend! Seth finished up with an impressive 6th place in the final round with Jesse Hines, Noah Snyder, Lucas Rogers, Mark Yonkers, and Drew Meredith(pretty much your worst nightmare of a final heat for a contest with a stack of names like that). As always Eastern Surf Magazine did an amazing job on covering the contest. A full "Fight Club" feature is up and ready to be viewed on www.easternsurf.com. With photographer Tom Dugan in the area, it was a 'no-brainer' that a photo like this would get plugged in the feature!
