Surfline's wrap up on the Outer Banks Pro 2012

The annual Hurley-WRV Outer Banks Pro went down this past weekend at Jennette's Pier in Nags Head, NC, and our boys Jeffrey Myers and Seth 'Wally' Barrick were there to represent.  Unfortunately the waves were meager, which left the boys hanging after the first couple rounds.  Big congrats to the 2012 Outer Banks Pro champ Aaron 'Gorkin' Cormican!  For the full photo feature and editorial piece on the contest(written by Matt Pruett), click here!

A little more Issac!

Graciously received this photo of  teamster Jeff Myers from photographer Jon Carter during the Isaac swell and wanted to include it in a post!  I believe it was taken at Pea Island's 'New Inlet' on the 1st or 2nd day of the Isaac swell. Thanks for the capture Jon!!!

Once again, we were really stoked to have a presence at the Bud Lite Lime Labor Day Cup!  Ability pro, team rider Jeff Myers received an invite into the event and made his and our presence known! Nate Thompson surfaces in Wilmington,NC !

Photographer Chris Frick and team rider Nate Thompson nailed several photos during the recent Isasac and Leslie swells in Wilmington, NC.  I haven't heard from Nate in months and thought he dropped of the radar, and then boom!  He comes through blowing up with a bunch of photos shredding in our "Forward Thinking" tee shirt.  *side note* Photographer Chris Frick has really developed into a great photographer!  Keep up the amazing work Chris!

Congratulations Jeff Myers!

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to team rider Jeffrey Myers on his invitation entry to the Bud Lite Lime Invitational, Labor Day Cup, surf contest!!! The Bud Lite Lime contest tour is making a stop here on the Outer Banks during Labor Day Weekend at Jennette's Pier. Myers will be competing against world renowned heavy hitters such Sunny Garcia, Fred Patacchia, Kalani Robb, Timmy Curran, Corey Lopez, Benji Weatherly, Dean Morrison, Bobby Martinez, Mike Losness, and the list goes on and gets even heavier! It's a huge honor to have Ability presence at this event along with a hometown, team homeboy to represent for all of us on the east coast! Please send some good luck and positive vibes Myers' way for this stacked contest!

Remembering Zeke

Team rider Jeffrey Myers did the honors of covering this year's annual "Zeke's Lil Rat Surfcus", which was published on easternsurf.com as an online editorial "Fight Club feature."  As quoted in the article, "For those who didn't have the opportunity to know Zeke, his smile could change your day. When I reflect on grommethood, I remember that smile and those times when responsibility was the least of my worries. That time in a child’s life is special, and I’d like to be able to say that at least I tried to make it happier, easier, or any bit more memorable for these groms. A fun, little, July south swell graced the Outer Banks last week!  Managed to capture a few clips and put together a webisode for this month!  Antwoine drove up from SC and surfed with the rest of the fam-  Seth 'Wally' Barrick, Cody Craig, Christian Kane, Patagonia's Kim Diggs, and Analog's Mark Dawson.  Enjoy!

Updates and a Lame Screen Printer

It's been a very busy few months with designing and unfortunate production problems!  A screen printing company out of New York by the name of Team Screen completely screwed us!  They received several pairs of our trunks to print on and never shipped a single pair to us?!  After countless attempts at communication, Ability hired an attorney to write letter heads requesting the trunks, and unfortunately Team Screen refused to respond, and we unfortunately never got the trunks.  Every letter head costs, and it got to the point where more money and time was being spent on collecting the trunks than the actual cost of them.   On top of that, Team Screen was doing all of our print work, which obviously ceased after that episode.  Therefore we had to search for new printers, and I'm happy to say that we have found a LEGIT one!  We're glad to say that the production is back on track, and Ability 2012  gear will be available soon!  Thanks for bearing with us through this difficult time!
